Dale Gray is a Maryland-based composer with a love of Catholic liturgical music and music engraving.
From an early age, liturgical music was always special to Dale from being mentored in music ministry as a teenager at his local church to crawling over to watch the organist play the pedals as a child!
Dale attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a full ride and earned a B.A. in Music Composition. While in college, he composed many compositions from solo instrument works to instrumental groups that were played by college resident groups and a group from Juliard, for example. In 2020 and 2021 Dale completed an internship with Worship NOW, a Catholic publishing company. During his internship he engraved over 200 hymns which were published in the Worship NOW hymnal and online.
Dale currently serves as the Music Ministry Coordinator at St Pius X Church and School in Bowie, MD where he directs three choirs between the church and school. A treat of his position at Pius has been writing a yearly theme song for the K-8 school (Be a Saint, How Close You Are, and When I Pray) and sharing other works with the congregation. He also directs a local senior choir and plays as necessary at other churches as a substitute.
In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family and dogs, make videos, and watch Lord of the Rings and Star Wars!
